Dear ARA Member and friends,

American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences (ARA) is planning to organize a series of Virtual Mini-Symposia during 2021 to substitute the traditional annual ARA Congress due to the pandemic.

Attached is the updated Invitation and Program for the "Celebration of Life – Acad. Prof. Constantin Corduneanu" Virtual Mini-Symposium, which will take place on

Prof. Constantin Corduneanu was a mathematics Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, USA between 1979 and 2018, from which he retired as Professor Emeritus. He started his academic career in mathematics in Romania at the University "Gh, Asachi" Iasi in 1946, evolving from the entry-level to the professor status (1962 - 1977) and moving in 1978 to United States. He participated in mathematics research as an affiliate of the "A. Myller" Mathematics Seminary and of the Mathematical Institute of the Romanian Academy in Iasi. He was an invited Professor at the University of Rhode Island, USA (1967-1968, 1973-1974, 1978) and at University of Tennessee of Knoxville (1978-1979)

He published two books, "Almost Periodic Functions" (1968) and "Principles of Integrated Differential and Integral Equations" (1973) and more than 150 papers in mathematics journals. Professor Corduneanu was an associated editor of prestigious journals in mathematics "Nonlinear Anal., Oxford" (1977-1985), "J. Integral Equations & Applications" (1979-1994), "Differential and Integral Equations". He was the founder and the editor of Libertas Mathematics, a journal published under American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences from 1981.

He was a Full Member of the Romanian Academy since 2015 and Correspondent Member from 1974,

Full Member of American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences from 1979, President (1995-1998) and Interim President (2016-2019),

Doctor Honoris Causa of the Romanian Universities of Valahia in Tirgoviste, Constanța, Brașov, Iași, Suceava and of the „Ural” University, Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation,

Recipient of the Awards of Romanian Academy (1963), Ministry of Education of Romania (1965), Distinguished Award of University of Texas at Arlington (1991).

Please use the chat feature to communicate with attendees and the Q&A feature to ask questions to the panelists.

Below some general information to run a good symposium and attached a guide for Zoom meeting attendees:

· Discussion time will be based on the amount of time you have after the final talk concludes. If you do not need to use the entire timeslot, you may end early.

· Session co-moderators should monitor the questions for the invited speaker(s) in this session, collecting questions from the chat feature.

Technical support:

· If you should need any technical assistance during the event, please use the chat box, as the co-moderator will be monitoring these at all times.

· Once the event starts, the co-moderators would let the audience know that if they need technical assistance they can type directly in the chat feature.

· Five minutes after the session begins a message will be posted in the chat panel letting attendees know the tech support is available to them for any technical issues they may experience in the meeting.
