Bianca Andreescu - Serena Williams 6-3/ 7-5 in finala US Open "E greu de spus in cuvinte ce simt. Sunt recunoascatoare si ma simt binecuvantata. Am muncit din greu pana aici. Nu ma pot plange, anul asta a fost excelent. Faptul ca pot ajunge pe aceeasi scena cu Serena, o legenda, este uimitor. Nu a fost un meci simplu, am incercat sa ma pregatesc ca de fiecare data. Am incercat sa intru pe teren si sa nu ma gandesc la adversara. E mai greu de facut decat de spus, dar sunt mandra de ce am realizat. Publicul... stiu ca voi va doreati sa castige Serena, imi pare rau. Ma asteptam ca Serena sa revina, a facut asta de multe ori, dar am incercat sa raman in meci. Ultimul game nu a fost deloc usor, insa ma bucur ca am reusit sa gestionez momentul. Anul trecut nu a fost usor pentru mine, eram afectata de accidentari. Am fost decisa sa nu renunt si vreau sa multumesc echipei mele pentru ca mi-a ramas alaturi. Am continuat sa cred in mine si sa muncesc. Nu le pot multumi suficient parintilor mei pentru tot ce au facut pentru mine. A fost o calatorie lunga... poate nu atat de lunga pentru ca am doar 19 ani, dar a fost greu. Le multumesc si haideti sa continuam!", a declarat Bianca Andreescu "Va multumesc mult, inseamna mult ca ma apreciati. Publicul a fost minunat pe parcursul turneului, va multumesc mult. Am luptat in setul secund, am incercat sa raman in meci. Am jucat ceva mai bine, am luptat si sunt recunoascatoare. Bianca a jucat foarte bine si merita felicitari. Sunt mandra si ma bucur pentru tine. A fost un tenis incredibil, eu speram sa pot juca mai bine. Ma bucur pentru Bianca, pot sa spun ca imi doream sa castige turneul, ea sau Venus daca eu nu puteam. Ma simt onorata sa fiu aici si sunt mandra ca pot concurez la nivelul asta. Ii multumesc lui Dumnezeu pentru ca am ajuns pana aici. Echipa mea a fost un punct de sprijin pentru ca am avut multe momente dificile", a spus Serena Williams.

Bianca Andreescu makes Canadian history in sport The young woman from Mississauga, Ont., made history on Thursday by becoming the first-ever Canadian to reach the U.S. Open final, setting her up for a showdown with Williams. A huge comeback in the second set gave Andreescu a straight-sets win (7-6, 7-5) in a tremendously tight thriller over Belinda Bencic. When it was over, Andreescu had her hands on her head again, looking shocked. First U.S. Open main draw. First U.S. Open final. Those things are not supposed to go together. "A lot of emotions are running through my body right now. A lot of thoughts, too. But right now I'm just trying to take in the victory," said Andreescu. "Hopefully I can just keep the momentum going for the finals. Hopefully I can play a little bit better than I did today." The match will be a bit of unfinished business. Williams and Andreescu played each other for the first time in last month's Rogers Cup. But after just four games, Williams was forced to retire due to back spasms, That handed Andreescu her second WTA title of the season and made her the first Canadian to win the tournament since Faye Urban of Windsor, Ont., beat Vancouver's Vicki Berner in 1969. “I don’t know what to say,” she said on court. Here’s one thing she could say: She’s the first Canadian to make a U.S. Open singles final ever, and the first to make any Slam final since Milos Raonic at Wimbledon three years ago. No Canadian has won a Slam singles title. The victory sets up a rematch with Williams from last month in Toronto at the Rogers Cup, where the American legend pulled out early in the first set, citing back spasms. The 19-year-old Andreescu is looking for the first major title of her career, in her first US Open main-draw appearance. It would also be the first-ever Grand Slam singles title by a Canadian.

Hai Bianca ! Bianca Andreescu, tenismena canadiana de origine romana, a reusit sa se califice in finala ultimului turneu de Grand Slam al sezonului, US Open. In semifinale, ea a trecut greu, in doua seturi, de Belinda Bencic, scor 7-6 (3), 7-5, si asteapta acum duelul de vis cu Serena Williams din ultimul act de la Flushing Meadows. Sportiva ce are parinti romani a inceput mai greu partida si a fost dominata de elvetianca. Fara a reusi sa isi creeze vreo sansa de a castiga pe serviciul adversarei, Bianca a fost nevoita sa anuleze sase mingi de break ale lui Bencic, inclusiv o minge de set. S-a intrat astfel in tie-break, acolo unde Bianca a fost mai buna si s-a impus cu 7-3. Setul secund a fost inca si mai complicat, Andreescu pierzandu-si de doua ori serviciul si permitandu-i Belindei sa se distanteze la 4-1 si 5-2, elvetianca servind de doua ori pentru a trimite semifinala in decisiv. A reusit insa sa isi revina excelent Bianca si sa se impuna in cele din urma cu 7-5, obtinand biletele pentru marea finala! Pentru Bianca Andreescu va fi prima finala de Grand Slam din cariera, ea venind dupa un sezon 2019 fenomenal, de departe cel mai bun din scurta ei cariera in tenisul profesionist.
